Already in 1932 Pietro Chiesa realised the first coffee table in one single piece of curved glass! In the 80s, Angelo Cortesi, inspired by his predecessor and using the latest glass technology of the FIAM company, aimed to realise an even larger monolithic table. This still very popular piece became known as the Ponte (Italian for bridge) or Waterfall coffee table.
