sold / Rectangular glass coffee table with black marble legs, Italian, 1980s

This geometric coffee table is made by an unknown Italian artisan, probably executed in the 1980s. The rectangular tabletop, made out of thick crystal, rests on four individual legs. The legs are made of separate deep black Italian marble slabs in different dimensions, joined together creating a beautiful rhythmic shape resembling a staircase. Whereas the geometric shapes and heavy materials emphasise its static appearance, at the same time the adjustability of the individual legs turns it into a dynamic object.
