sold / Polhem sofa by Tord Bjorklund for Ikea, 1980s

Tord Björklund was one among the designers that provided successful Postmodern designs for IKEA in the 1980s. His work is often characterised by open, light structures, featuring steel, leather and/or wood. A well known example is his chaise longue for the same Swedish company. Björklund had the Polhem design executed in a sofa as well as a chair, to be combined or used separately.
