Fiandra modular sofa elements in white linen by Vico Magistretti for Cassina, 1970s
sold
Designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina and first put into production in 1975, the Fiandra system embodies the best of 1970s Italian modular design. Its name ‘Fiandra’ being the Italian word for Flanders (the flat, linen-weaving region of northern Belgium) evokes both the solidity of its construction and the heritage of fine textile craftsmanship. Clean lines and gently rounded edges (like the cute little round legs) allow each element to pair seamlessly in a 3-seater or a 2-seater and a lounge chair. Besides being chique and beautiful, it’s also very very comfy.
