Yang floor lamp by Gary Morga for Bieffeplast, Italy, 1986

The Yang Lamp was designed by Gary Morga for the Italian brand Bieffeplast, which in the 1980s invited young designers to create innovative and expressive lighting for the international design market, particularly for the Euroluce fair in Milan.

For Morga, the idea of balance between masculinity and femininity was a symbolic translation of the duality in life and in design itself. Rigid versus soft, industrial versus sensual, functional versus poetic.
Its red-glowing base and white uplighter embody this tension between opposites, uniting warmth and clarity in a single sculptural form.
