sold / Mushroom floor lamp by Posthuma brothers for Gepo, 1970s

This Space age Mushroom lamp was designed in the 1970s by the three Posthuma brothers for their own manufacturing company called Gepo, which derives from Gebroeders Posthuma.
In 1965 the three brothers started their company in Amsterdam with 35 euros lent from their mother. No less than seven years later, they achieved a turnover of 1 million euros. They aimed for the production of lighting at democratic prices, in order to make elegant and timeless designs available to the middle class. Their style is characterised by Space Age shapes and the use of chrome and acrylics.
